Our 8 Week Game Ranger courses are situated in the Big 5 Private Game Reserve located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. You will get a first-hand and practical insight into Game reserve jobs by completing your Level One field guide syllabus, which is accredited by the FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa). Game Ranger courses are very hands on and this course is ideal for people that want to take their passion for conservation to the next level. It is also possible to add our 8 week Game Ranger courses on to any of our other conservation or community based programmes.

There is no minimum entry level required for our Game Ranger courses, but a basic knowledge of game conservation and the veld would be helpful. The only requirements are an international drivers license and registration with the FGASA.

All aspects of conservation and survival skills will be covered as you learn how to take on Game reserve jobs, helping to give you a greater understanding of the African bush and how to manage a game farm.

At the end of the course, students will be required to complete both a practical and theoretical examination. Students who pass the exam will be awarded a certificate of success and will leave their game ranger courses with an entry-level qualification in field guiding.

Our Game Ranger Courses also include:

  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Study manuals
