Born Free Supports Local Community
Born Free Foundation is a UK based charity which strives to protect wild animals globally. Born Free have two Big Cat sanctuaries located on our most exciting reserve, Shamwari Game Reserve. These sanctuaries are home to a number of big cat species that have been rescued from appalling conditions and relocated to the sanctuaries.

These sanctuaries obtain various donations throughout the year from local visitors and UK supporters. One of the drives of Born Free has always been to educate the local community on the importance of conservation through free educational trips for local schools. This year they have taken this support one step further and have donated various school equipment and other necessities such as computers to the surrounding community. These gestures will help make a huge difference.

We help support Born Free through monthly donations, volunteers at Shamwari also have the opportunity to visit the Big Cat centres as well as the communities they support. Click here to find out more about the charity.

Making a Difference this Christmas
Brighton Hove College have made many donations to be used on the local communities in South Africa. We have spent their donations on setting up a tree nursery at the Hendrick Kanyise School in Alicedale, revamping the old container and purchasing educational toys for the CARE foundation and setting up the Litha Lethu beadwork group in Alicedale with 5 unemployed women.

These donations are still being used for many different projects and we would like to give a big thanks to Brighton Hove College for all their hard work and contributions.
