MORE INFORMATION ABOUT BECOMING A GAME RANGER ...
This 6 Week Game Ranger Training course is situated in the Big 5 Private Game Reserve located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. You will get a first-hand and practical insight into what it means to become a Game Ranger by completing your Level One field guide syllabus, which is accredited by the FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa). This Gap Year course is very hands on and is ideal for people that want to take their passion for conservation to the next level. It is also possible to add this 6 week Game Ranger Training Course on to any of our other conservation or community based programmes.

There is no minimum entry level required for the course, but a basic knowledge of game conservation and the veld would be helpful. The only requirements are an international driver's licence and registration with the FGASA.

All aspects of conservation and survival skills will be covered as you learn to become a Game Ranger, helping to give you a greater understanding of the African bush and how to manage a game farm.

At the end of the course, students will be required to complete both a practical and theoretical examination. Students who pass the exam will be awarded a certificate of success and will leave their gap year in South Africa with an entry-level qualification in field guiding.

The Game Ranger Training Course also includes:
