Jennifer O’Brien’s fourth and final week at Shamwari Game Reserve

I've had a really good last week at Shamwari Game Reserve. We went on a night drive on the Monday and saw lots of interesting nocturnal animals, as well as some cheetah, which was a bonus. We also worked throughout the week, cleaning water points, chopping down trees and removing cactus and prickly pears. During the week we went on a drive around the reserve and saw a black rhino for the first time, as they are really hard to find, so that was a good way to end my placement.

As soon as I got picked up from the airport by Lynn (student co-ordinator) I felt relaxed and welcome. All the students that we picked up from town on the journey back to Moholoholo were lovely, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to settle me in."
